The Gadourys

I am now concentrating on tracing the families with Gadoury and Gadrow wives . Any help welcome .

The Gadoury family is a small French Canadian family maybe because our ancestor Georges Dagory came to New France from Normandy relatively late . Where they settled , however , they settled en masse within a very small area . In the 1800s most of this family can be found in three neighboring parishes - primarily in Ste Elisabeth and St Jean de Matha in Joliette County and Ste Genevieve in Berthier County . And when they immigrated to the United States , most came to Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts AND Connecticut .

THE NAME GADOURY CAN BE FOUND WITH MANY VARIANTS .

IN AREAS OF SOUTHERN RHODE ISLAND IT IS FOUND AS GADROW .

IN THE TAUNTON AREA OF MASSACHUSETTS IT IS GADRY .

IN AREAS OF CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS WE FOUND GADRICK .

I am descended from Leontine Gadoury , the daughter of Honore Gadoury and Georgina Charron dit Ducharme who were married in 1870 at Ste Elisabeth de Joliette . Leontine married Ovila Vanasse in 1907 in Fall River MA . They later moved to nearby New Bedford .

THE GADOURYS OF EASTERN CONNECTICUT SPECIFICALLY MARCEL GADOURY AND LOUISE BREAULT WHO WERE MARRIED IN 1891 IN PUTNAM CT.

I NEED INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING COUPLE IN CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS

In 1944 Leda Gadoury Goodrich died in Winchendon MA at age 70 . The obituary gives her parents as Francis Xavier Gadoury and Mathilda Dumais . She was born in Minesville New York .Any information on this family would be appreciated .

I am looking for information on Pacome Gadoury who may have immigrated to Vermont with his family . His wife was Marguerite Coutu .
